What SOS is

SOS is a community management platform designed for VRChat communities. It provides tools for managing events, members, media, supporter tiers, and integrations with Discord, VRChat, and payment platforms. It's built and operated by the team behind Sanctum.

Using the platform

By using SOS, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, that's okay — just don't use the platform. You need to be at least 18 years old to use SOS, consistent with the VRChat communities this platform serves.

You're responsible for your account and everything that happens under it. Keep your login credentials secure. If you think someone else has accessed your account, let us know immediately.

Community guidelines

SOS is a tool for building positive communities. When using the platform, you agree to:

  • Treat other users with respect
  • Not upload illegal, harmful, or harassing content
  • Not attempt to access other users' accounts or data
  • Not use the platform to spam, scam, or deceive others
  • Follow the rules of any community you join

Community owners are responsible for moderating their own communities. We provide the tools — how communities use them is up to their leadership.

Your content

When you upload photos, recordings, or other content to SOS, you retain ownership of that content. By uploading it, you grant the community and SOS a license to display and distribute it within the platform as part of the features you're using (galleries, performance archives, etc.).

You can delete your content at any time. If you leave a community, your uploaded content may remain visible unless you or a community manager removes it.

Payments and supporter tiers

Some communities offer supporter tiers through Stripe, Patreon, or VRChat's Creator Economy. These are transactions between you and the community — SOS facilitates the connection but does not process payments directly and takes no fees.

Refund policies are set by each community and the payment platform they use. Disputes about payments should be directed to the community owner or the payment platform (Stripe, Patreon, or VRChat).

What we provide (and don't guarantee)

We do our best to keep SOS running smoothly, but we can't guarantee 100% uptime or that every feature will work perfectly at all times. SOS is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice. If we ever need to shut down the platform entirely, we'll give users time to export their data.

Community owner responsibilities

If you operate a community on SOS, you're responsible for:

  • Moderating your community and enforcing your own rules
  • Handling supporter relationships and any payment disputes
  • Ensuring your use of payment integrations complies with the respective platform's terms
  • Keeping API credentials and tokens secure
  • Respecting the privacy of your community members

Account termination

You can delete your account at any time. We may also suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or are used for harmful purposes. If your account is terminated, you'll lose access to the platform and any communities you were part of.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SOS and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. This includes but is not limited to lost revenue, data loss, or disruption of community operations.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the platform. Continued use of SOS after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
